Terms of Service
Last updated October 2, 2026
These terms govern your use of RinkLink (the "Service"), provided by Michael Otto ("we", "us"). When you use RinkLink, your agreement is with Michael Otto.
Acceptance
By creating an account or continuing to use the Service, you agree to these terms. If you use RinkLink for a Hockey Club, you confirm you have authority to accept these terms on its behalf. You must be of legal age to create an account; children's information is added and managed by their parents or guardians.
The Service
RinkLink helps youth hockey families, coaches and clubs manage schedules, RSVPs, rosters, messages, stats, public club websites, and club registration and other forms, including collecting fees set by clubs.
Your account
- Keep your sign-in details confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
- Provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse the Service, including:
- using it for anything unlawful, fraudulent, or to send spam;
- infringing anyone's intellectual property or privacy;
- interfering with security, introducing malware, probing for vulnerabilities, or scraping;
- reverse engineering, reselling, or circumventing technical limits of the Service.
Your content
You keep ownership of the content you add. You give us a limited licence to host and process it only to provide the Service.
Our intellectual property
We own the Service and all related software, documentation and branding. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it under these terms.
Payments
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
Payment, billing, tax, cancellation and refund terms are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms and our Refund Policy. Club fees (such as registration or uniform orders) are set by each club; see Pricing.
Club plans renew automatically each month or year until cancelled. A cancelled plan stays active until the end of the paid period. If a plan ends or a renewal payment fails, the club becomes read-only; no club or family data is deleted.
Service level and warranties
We work to keep RinkLink reliable, but we do not guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages (such as lost profits, data or goodwill), and our total liability is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may stop using the Service at any time. When access ends, we delete or anonymise your data as described in our Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the new terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, and disputes will be handled by its courts, unless the law where you live requires otherwise.
